March 13th, 2019 – MARSABIT, Kenya, March 13th – At least three people were killed on Wednesday evening in a renewed tribal clashes in Haro Girisa area, Saku Sub-county.

Addressing the media on the incident assistance Police Commander in-charge of Sakuu Sub-County Benjamin Mwathi confirmed the killings and urged the residents to remain calm since the security officers have been deployed in the area to pursue the attackers.

For a period now the conflict along the border of North Horr and Saku sub-counties had claimed so many lives.

Unconfirmed reports from the area link the killings to national police reservists and civilians with illegal firearms causing tension and mayhem in the area since it has been difficult for government security personnel to intensify their operation to end the ethnic clash.

The clashes come just barely a week after another attempted attack in the same disputed area and it has raised the tension to even road users along Marsabit-Moyale highway.
