In Turkana, Political leadership was provided by ritual diviners or ngimurok. Each of these men normally controlled one territorial section, but a few outstanding figures rose to positions of influence in the tribe as a whole. Over 600 athletes have confirmed participation in the annual Marsabit Lake Turkana Half Marathon. The event will run on 19may before culminating into the race on 21 may. Besides the 21km elite race (men and women), the event will feature 21km for community teams, 21km county relay (47counties), 10km Corporate Challenge, 10km Moran race (community warriors), 10km women’s race (community women) and 3km family fun run. Lake Turkana Cultural festival 8th edition will be held on 29th to 31st may.
