Her Royal Highness, Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark, Countess of Monpezat visited Samburu county accompanied by the Samburu county’s governor HE Moses Lenolkulal, the Danish minister for International development Ulla Tornaes and a host of senior officials from the Royal Danish embassy in Nairobi.
Princess Mary visited the Kalama Community Conservancy in Waso ward, Samburu East sub-county and was taken through a number of programmes run by the Northen Rangelands Trust funded by the Danish International Development Agency – DANIDA. Governor Lenolkulal reiterated the Samburu county government’s commitment to conservation and the promotion of tourism citing the region as one with high levels of success in the country. He further welcomed the need for partnership with development partners both at the local and the international fronts in the areas of conservation and related community development engagements. The Crown Princess Mary is in the country to open a high-level women conference in Nairobi.
