Marsabit Catholic Bishop Peter Kihara has issued warning to ban politicians from campaigning in church.
Speaking today morning, Bishop Kihara issued the statement to all parish priests, Nuns and Church leaders on inviting politician to church events or even giving their contributions in any form be it money or anything.
The above decree was issued during the annual general meeting that brought together priests, Nuns and other church leader that is currently on-going at pastoral Centre, Marsabit.

“As Catholic bishops that’s our stand and we won’t entertain politics in church, no political campaigns or handouts but still your invited to join other Christians in prayers like others’’
Bishop Kihara further issued a warning to the priest to stay away from politics and never use church resources like vehicles to campaign for politicians.
“No priest is supposed to be publicly affiliated to any political party, or a politicians and am going to release an official letter on the same,” emphasised the bishop.
He warned that any catholic priest who entertains politicians in church will face disciplinary action, He told them to referee all politicians to him if they can’t deal with them.
The bishop also appealed to the faithful in the diocese to preach peace as we approach the election period.
