Marsabit County Governor elect Mohamud Ali and his deputy Solomon Gubo Riwe today took oath of office in a colourful ceremony held at Moi Girls High School.
The ceremony was presided over by Meru High Court Justice Francis Gikonyo and Marsabit Law Court Principal Magistrate Boaz Ombewa.
The new county boss promise to uphold integrity in his new office based on powers bestowed on him through fighting corruption and empower the minority across the vast county.
Governor Ali urged county residents to watch and embrace peace at all times, telling them that without peace nothing worthy can be achieved.
Governor Ali thanked county residents for upholding peace before,during and after election, assuring them fair and just leadership.
The deputy elect Solomon Gubo echoed the same message from the governor elect that the new government will ensure that government service are available to all from health,education,infrastructure and empowerment programs focused on youths and women.
Other Key leaders who attended the ceremony were Marsabit Senator elect Godana Harugura, Sakuu Mp Dido Ali Raso and Women Rep Safia Sheikh Adan and Marsabit County Commissioner Magu Muthindika who urged the newly elected leaders to encourage politics of development for the betterment of the residents of Marsabit county.

This is a message from Marsabit County Inter-Faith leaders led by Marsabit Catholic Bishop Peter Kiara, having shown the inauguration ceremony participants an egg and urge the to take care of the egg since lives of the residents of marsabit county lies on their hands and egg is a symbol of peace and without peace there’s no development and the newly elected leaders were chosen to serve the residents of Marsabit county despite their diversity.
However, the outgoing governor Amb Ukur Yattani who was expected to hand over the county seal to governor elect as a change of guard in Marsabit County skipped the event though was represented by the outgoing deputy governor Omar Abdi.
