Marsabit County boss Mohamud Ali today handed out 240 Allotment letters to Nyayo Road and Manyatta Chille land owners in a colourful ceremony held in Marsabit Town.
The National Land Commission incollaboration with Marsabit county Lands department carried out a survey exercise for the two villages in the year 2016 and since then nothing has happened on issuing the important document.
The titles, Governor Ali said, would empower residents through farming and facilitating loans and construction of permanent homes


Marsabit County deputy governor Solomon Gubo and other leaders promised residents that they would involve land committees in the land processes for transparency and accountability.
Governor Ali promised the residents of the Manyatta Chile and Nyayo Road that county government will pay 2 million for processing there title deeds as one way to support those who can’t afford that fees.
The governor said the government will fast track the adjudication of land in the region and ensure more titles are issued to residents over short period.
