Have a nature walk around numerous sites that belonging to different time period with the earlier findings dating back to the Neolithic period. This walk is a good way to learn early settlement in Kenya and the Great Rift Valley in general.

Menengai crater is located 10 kilometers North of Nakuru town in the Great Rift Valley. It is the second largest surviving volcanic crater in the world, with a surface area of 90 sq km. It is a perfect spot for hiking; you climb the walls of the crater via the long stretch of murram road strewn with huge gravel to a roadblock manned by several Kenya Forest Service officers. You have to pay at least Ksh 200 to be allowed to visit the crater. After you pay you will be allowed in to enjoy the magical view of this creator. Carry packed lunch and have a merry time exploring the crater.
