MARSABIT, Oct 17 2017-The Cabinet Secretary for health Cleopa Mailu today visited Marsabit County to access health situation following malaria outbreak that claimed 26 lives in North Horr sub-county.
His maiden visit comes when the health sector in the country is in jeopardy as nurses strike continues despite futile effort to reach the agreement.
Speaking in Marsabit CS Mailu urged the nurses to return to their work stations and serve the residents of Marsabit at times like this the county is battling with malaria outbreak.
CS Mailu was accompanied with his principal secretary Nicholas Muraguri met with governor Muhammed Ali and visited Marsabit County Referral Hospital, CS Mailu promised to support Marsabit County in establishment of KMTC.
Through his ministry CS Mailu promised to deliver 2 CT SCAN in the next 3 months so as to enhance health sector and reduce frequent referrals in Marsabit County.
Marsabit County governor Muhammad Ali was delighted by the move by CS Mailu to support Marsabit County by providing CT SCAN for it will revolutionalize health sector in the region.
