Many patients in Moyale sub-county have been forced to travel to Sololo Mission Hospital to seek medical care following ongoing strike by doctors and nurses.
Sololo hospital administration has told Radio Jangwani that the facility has received many patients from near and far including Golbo, Butiye, Obbu, Uran and even from Moyale town.
Doctors and nurses at Sololo Mission hospital who were on leave have been asked to return to work. Here in Marsabit town activity at the main referral hospital are increasingly paralyzed with the patients at the hospital being forced seek treatment at private hospitals.
In Moyale referral hospital a similar situation is being experienced at the main public hospital in the sub-county. The number of patients has also dropped significantly.
Moreover patients from neighboring Ethiopia who crossed the border to seek treatment at Moyale hospital referral have been forced to seek alternative methods of treatment.
At Kalacha referral management said the operations at the facility remains normal despite the strike witnessed across the country.
