Marsabit County Commissioner Mutindika Magu has urged county residents to remain calm and tranquility despite the ravaging drought being experienced in the county.
Commissioner Mutindika said the national government will work closely with county government and also NGOs in the county in order to reach-out to residents affected by distributing food aids to affected areas.
He has warned politicians against divisive politics that could hamper peace and stability in the county and cautioned on what happened in Moyale Town in the year 2013.
“Let’s share available scarce resources and avoid conflict at all cost since resources are God given and drought pose danger to all of us and our livestock” Says Muthindika.
Mutindika said security has been beefed up in the county to ensure maximum security exists at this time, when pastoralists move from one place to another in search of water and pasture.
In his speech Mutindika urged the politicians to avoid incitements as we approach the elections.
